Species like Mahi Mahi, Groupers, Hogfish, Jacks, Kingfish, Little Tunny (False Albacore), Lobster, Marlin, Snappers, and more inhabit these waters, depending on when you go. During the trip, you might be spinning, trolling, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. For the more adventurous among you, there’s spearfishing.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea – luckily, Capt. Dominico will have some on board!
You’ll be casting lines from a 22’ center console that holds up to 10 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers upon request , and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself with an onboard casting net.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish. It’s recommended to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and a hat. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks provided on board.
